THE PUNK ROCK MOVIE
Cuando el punk rock estalló en Gran Bretaña en 1976, de la mano de los Sex Pistols y sus escándalos mediáticos, el británico (de ascendencia afro) Don Letts estaba ahí para registrarlo todo con su cámara Super 8. DJ de diversos clubes subterráneos en donde se comenzó a gestar la cultura punk inglesa, Letts es el principal culpable de la fusión entre punks y jamaiquinos (que termina de cristalizarse en la fusión de reggae y punk en bandas como The Clash, The Slits o The Ruts). The Punk Rock Movie es un film definitivo, que muestra profundamente la última cultura que shockeó al mundo. Con la participación de los más insignes grupos de la primera oleada del “no future” (Sex Pistols, The Clash, Generation X, Siouxsie & The Banshees, The Heartbreakers y un largo etc), The Punk Rock Movie presenta también reveladoras y (de a momentos) desgarradoras imágenes que están grabadas a fuego en nuestra cultura contemporánea.
Considerado hoy como un film cuyo valor excede el meramente musical, The Punk Rock Movie es un clásico con todas las letras.
