Electroplano is a novelty, an album that combines
the deepest sounds of native argentine music with
the electronic textures of chill out.
Born in 1938 in Tucumán, Jaime Torres is
the most important charango player in the world.
He has been touring worldwide since 1967 and in1974
he participated in the opening ceremony of the
World Cup in Germany.
In 1988 he wrote the music for the film ‘Internal
Debt,’ which examines the Argentine value
system and was nominated for a best foreign film
at the Oscars. In 1995 he received the Konex prize
for best instrumentalist of popular Argentine music.
With an illustrious discography, he is the human
equivalent of a cultural heritage site for music.
Jaime has ventured down the paths of Electroplano,
an album that gives our native music new life.
This is an album poised to make history.
